3.9% of citizens unemployed in Salt Lake County in 2021

Salt Lake County recorded an unemployment rate of 3.9% among residents aged 16 and 65 years old in 2021. That’s 24,804 people out of the 1,173,331 living in Salt Lake County at the time, according to data obtained from the U.S. Census Bureau.

The unemployment rate in Salt Lake County has increased compared to the 3.7% registered in 2020.

The percentage of people unemployed in Salt Lake County was greater than the statewide unemployment rate of 3.5%.

Of the 618,403 people who had a job during that time, 842 were employed in the Armed Forces and 617,561 belonged to the civilian labor force.
