Salt Lake City ranked 139th in state for resident earnings in 2017

Salt Lake City ranked 139th among cities in Utah by annual earnings per resident, according to data obtained from the U.S. Census Bureau in August.

The median income of Salt Lake City residents was an inflation-adjusted $27,858 per year. Salt Lake City had 76,876 households in 2017, with a population of 194,188.

The city with the highest median resident income in the state was Dutch John. Dutch John's median income was $75,931 per year after adjusting for inflation – $48,073 more than Salt Lake City. It had 20 households in 2017 and a population of 131.

Randlett had the lowest annual resident income among cities in Utah, with a median income of only $2,499 per year. That was $25,359 less than the median income in Salt Lake City at the time. Randlett had 34 households in 2017 and a population of 144.
