The University of Utah women’s soccer team announced on Apr. 3 the addition of six new players who will join the Utes for the 2026 campaign.
The announcement is significant as it brings a mix of experienced transfers and promising talent to the roster, aiming to strengthen the team ahead of the upcoming season.
Among those joining are Kaella Chin, a defender from Van Nuys, California, who previously played at UCLA and contributed to three club national championships during her time there. Brooke Gardner, another defender from Lehi, Utah, comes from UNLV after starting all matches in her last season with the Rebels and earning First-Team All-American honors while at Salt Lake Community College. Kennedy Fletcher joins as a midfielder/defender from Portland, Oregon; she spent two seasons at Arizona and was recognized as a United Soccer Coaches Girls Youth All-American.
Maddie Stoddard arrives as a midfielder after playing two years at Auburn University where she helped her team reach the second round of the NCAA Tournament in 2024. Anna Solomon will bolster goalkeeping options after four seasons with Oregon and recording a clean sheet against Michigan State in 2024. Rounding out the group is Nevaeh Peregrina, a midfielder from Ogden who played two seasons with Portland and has earned several state-level accolades including Ms. Utah Soccer Deseret News Player of the Year.
Each player brings individual achievements both at collegiate and high school levels across various states including California, Utah, Oregon, Georgia, and more. Their backgrounds feature multiple all-state selections, academic honors such as SEC First-Year Academic Honor Roll for Stoddard, conference awards like ECNL First-Team honorees for Fletcher and Peregrina, along with leadership roles within their previous teams.
