The Utah women’s track and field team will participate in the NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships on March 13-14 in Fayetteville, Arkansas, according to a March 9 announcement. The event will take place at the Tyson Track Center and will be available for viewing on ESPN+.
This year, Utah is sending a program-record three individual qualifiersāChelsea Amoah (200 meters), Bri Rinn (mile), and Erin Vringer (3000 meters)āalong with its distance medley relay (DMR) team. The DMR squad includes Rinn, Emily Martin, Kyla Martin, Vringer, and alternate Millie Wilcox. This marks only the third time in program history that Utah has had multiple individual qualifiers for the indoor championships, with previous instances occurring in 2004 and 2023.
The DMR team’s qualification is notable as it is the second consecutive year they have reached this stage. Last season, the group finished fifth overallāthe first time Utah’s DMR squad qualified for the championships. The same quartet returns this year to compete again.
Sophomore Chelsea Amoah will make her debut at the NCAA Indoor Championships as the first Ute to compete in a sprints event at this level. Bri Rinn becomes just the third athlete from Utah to run in the mile at these championships and will also participate as part of the DMR team for a second straight year. Erin Vringer qualifies individually for the first time and will anchor both her individual race in the 3000 meters and contribute to the DMR; she is only the second Ute ever to run in this event at nationals.
