The Utah women’s track and field team produced a program-best three individual All-Americans at the indoor championships, according to a Mar. 16 announcement from the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.
This achievement marks the highest number of individual All-Americans Utah has had at an indoor championship, surpassing the previous record set in 2023 when Simone Plourde and Emily Venters both earned first-team honors. The recognition also represents the first time Bri Rinn, Chelsea Amoah, and Erin Vringer have received All-America status as individuals.
Rinn earned second-team honors on the first day of competition by posting the eighth-fastest time in the mile (4:37.82) and finishing 12th overall. She joins Amanda Mergaert as Utah’s only other All-American in that event. Amoah became Utah’s first sprinter to compete at the indoor championships and its first All-American in a sprints event after placing 13th overall in the 200-meter dash with a time of 23.08 seconds, earning second-team honors. Vringer joined Plourde as one of only two Utah athletes to become an All-American in the 3000-meter event by finishing with a time of 8:57.27 for 11th place overall.
In addition to these individual achievements, Utah’s distance medley relay squad—composed of Rinn, Emily Martin, Kyla Martin, and Vringer—earned first-team All-America honors for a second consecutive year after finishing seventh overall with a time of 10:52.58. This performance was the second-fastest in program history, trailing only their school record set last year which ranks as the sixth-fastest all-conditions time in NCAA history.
The list of past honorees includes notable names such as Grayson Murphy (5000m), Amanda Mergaert (mile), Langley Iverson (high jump), Traci Olsen-Stevens (high jump), Simone Plourde (3000m), and Emily Venters (5000m).
