The Utah Utes women’s tennis team remained undefeated at home this season after a 4-1 victory over the Kansas State Wildcats on March 28. The match took place in Salt Lake City, with Utah improving its record to 14-5 overall and maintaining a perfect 10-0 record at home.
This win keeps the Utes on an eight-match winning streak and strengthens their position in Big 12 play, where they now hold a 7-2 conference record. The result is significant as it highlights the team’s consistency and strong performance throughout the season.
In doubles competition, Kansas State started strong by taking a set on court three. However, Utah responded with wins from Emma Kamper and Emmie Moore at No. 2 doubles, followed by Sara Akid and Emma Valletta clinching the doubles point for Utah with a victory over Maralgoo Chogsomjav and Martaa Chogsomjav.
During singles play, Kansas State secured an early point at No. 6 singles. Utah then gained momentum as Emma Valletta won her match at No. 5 singles, followed by Emmie Moore’s straight-set victory at No. 3 singles. Kamper sealed the overall match for Utah with a tiebreak win in the first set and a decisive second set against Martaa Chogsomjav at No.1 singles.
Several matches were left unfinished once Utah clinched the overall victory. The team will next travel to Texas to face TCU on April 2 and Baylor on April 4 before returning home for senior weekend against Arizona and Arizona State.
