The University of Utah softball team announced on Apr. 1 that it will embark on two road trips, first traveling to Orlando, Florida for a three-game series against the UCF Knights, followed by a visit to Ogden, Utah for a matchup with the Weber State Wildcats.

These games are significant as they present both a long-distance challenge and an in-state rivalry for the Utes. The contests against UCF begin Thursday at the UCF Softball Complex and continue through Saturday. The team then heads to Weber State for a game next Tuesday.

Fans can watch all games live on ESPN+. According to the schedule released by the university, game times vary between afternoon and evening slots depending on location. Recent performances have highlighted standout players such as freshman Cian Noli, who recorded multiple hits in three out of four recent games and improved her batting average significantly over the past weeks. Mia Gomez broke a program record for consecutive games reaching base safely with her current streak standing at 36—also leading all freshmen nationally in this category.

UCF enters these matchups after sweeping Houston with strong offensive numbers and pitching performances. Their season batting average is .328—fourth best in their conference—and their pitchers hold a combined earned run average (ERA) of 2.65. Notably, Isabella Vega pitched a perfect game last weekend.

Utah’s own statistics remain impressive: They currently hold one of the top ERAs nationally at 2.32 and rank among leaders in shutouts, walks drawn, runs batted in (RBIs), and double plays turned this season. Individual honors have been awarded recently to several players including Danika Wilson as Freshman of the Week twice this year and Shelbee Jones as Big 12 Pitcher of the Week.
