The Utah track and field team finished its day of competition at the Robison Invitational on Apr. 30, drawing closer to the end of the regular season.
The event saw several notable performances from Utah athletes. Allie Bruce began the day in the 800-meter open race, finishing fifth with a time of 2:16.60, just short of her personal record. Bruce later set a new personal best in the invitational section of the 1500-meter run with a time of 4:31.59, placing seventh overall.
Haley Duvall tied her career-best in the 100-meter dash by finishing third with a time of 11.73 seconds. Rachel Bair ran her first-ever 100-meter dash and finished seventh with a time of 11.93 seconds.
In the 200-meter dash, all three Utah sprinters achieved new personal records: Ellie Heslam led with a time of 25.44 seconds, followed by Susmitha Jayanthi at 25.62 seconds and Kait Durham at 25.98 seconds.
Glo Hussey took third place in her only event for the day, clearing a height of 1.65 meters in the high jump.
Rachel Bair also competed in heptathlon events but did not participate in the final event, instead recording throws and jumps that brought her total to 3,620 points.
Looking ahead, select members from Utah will compete next at the Desert Heat Classic on May 2 as their final regular-season meet before heading to Drachman Stadium for this year’s Big Twelve Outdoor Track & Field Championships scheduled for May.
