The Utah men’s tennis team lost to No. 12 Central Florida with a score of 4-0 on March 21 in Orlando, Florida.
This match adds another loss to Utah’s season record, bringing them to 4-12 overall and 0-3 in Big 12 conference play. The result highlights the team’s ongoing challenges this season as they continue their schedule against strong opponents.
Central Florida secured the doubles point by winning at both the No. 1 and No. 3 doubles positions. The match at No. 2 doubles, featuring Simeon Terziev and Emmett Potter for Utah, was left unfinished with the pair trailing.
In singles play, UCF clinched victories at the No. 6, No. 1, and No. 2 spots to secure the overall win before other matches could be completed. Balthazar Huss won his first set at the No. 5 position but dropped the second set before that match was also left unfinished along with those of Lorenzo Esquici and Simeon Terziev.
Looking ahead, Utah will remain on the road to face Arizona State on March 26 before returning home for a match against Texas Tech on March 29.
