Utah Golf finished tied for eighth place at The Goodwin, which concluded on March 28 at the Stanford Golf Course in California. The team ended the tournament with a total score of five-over-par 845, led by Sergio Jimenez’s strong performance on the final day.
The result places Utah among the top ten teams in a field of thirty, highlighting their competitive standing as they approach the end of their regular season. Finishing in the top third of a large and competitive field is seen as an encouraging outcome for the program.
Jimenez was instrumental in Utah’s success, carding a five-under-par 65 during day three to secure a tie for sixteenth individually. He was also the only member of his team to finish under par both on day three and overall across all three days. Jack Jerge, who joined Utah mid-year, posted an even-par round of 70 on day three and completed the competition one-over-par overall. Seniors Davis Johnson and Brandon Robison contributed rounds of three-over and four-over respectively during the final round.
The overall team standings saw Stanford claim first place with seventeen-under-par, followed by UCLA at thirteen-under and New Mexico at ten-under. Utah shared eighth place with Colorado among a diverse group that included programs from across the country.
Looking ahead, Utah will have about two weeks before participating in their last regular season event at The Thunderbird from April 10-11. Afterward, they will prepare for the Big 12 Tournament scheduled from April 27-29.
