Utah lacrosse players Luke McNamara and Nikko DiPonio have received Atlantic Sun Conference (ASUN) weekly honors after the team’s 32-4 win over Iona, according to an announcement from the league office.

McNamara was named ASUN Offensive Player of the Week. He set a Utah program record by scoring 10 goals and adding an assist for a career-high 11 points in the victory. This performance makes him the first Division I player to score double-digit goals in a single game since Hobart’s Jason Knox achieved this in 2020. McNamara’s 11 points are tied for the most by any player nationally this season. He took 15 shots, with 12 on goal, and collected a ground ball.

With these statistics, McNamara is now tied for the national lead in goals at 23 this season. His average of 4.60 goals per game is tied for second nationally and leads the ASUN conference. This is his first career weekly award from ASUN. Last season, he was one of three Utah players named to the conference’s all-Freshman team.

DiPonio earned his second Defensive Player of the Week honor this season and fourth of his career. The senior led Utah defensively against Iona with a career-high 10 ground balls, one caused turnover, and an assist—his third in as many games. DiPonio leads the conference with 16 caused turnovers and ranks fourth in ground balls with 25 entering this week.

Earlier this season, DiPonio also received Defensive Player of the Week recognition following Utah’s win over Delaware.

Utah has now swept both ASUN weekly awards twice in 2026 and remains the only team to do so this year.

The Utes will play their next game at Rice-Eccles Stadium against Dartmouth on Saturday, March 7 at noon. Admission is free, and fans can watch live on ESPN+. Updates are available via social media channels (@UTAHLacrosse on X and Instagram) or through Utah Athletics’ official mobile app.
