Utah Lacrosse will travel to face the Virginia Cavaliers on March 21, seeking its first-ever victory over the team as it rides a four-game winning streak. The match is scheduled for 9 a.m. Mountain Time at Scott Stadium in Charlottesville and will be streamed live on ACC Network Extra.
The Utes have outscored their opponents by a combined margin of 82-29 during their current run, including a record-setting 32-4 win over Iona last month. In that game, Luke McNamara scored 10 goals—the first Utah player to reach double digits in a single contest and the first NCAA men’s lacrosse player to do so since 2020. Utah’s offensive output tied for fourth-most goals in an NCAA Division I game and marked the highest point total in any game this season.
Head coach Andrew McMinn, now in his fifth season with Utah, leads a program that has set more than 70 records under his tenure and holds a strong record against ASUN Conference opponents. The team is coming off four consecutive ASUN regular season titles and two championships in the past three years. Nikko DiPonio was named the 2025 ASUN Defensive Player of the Year and earned All-America Honorable Mention status from several organizations.
Utah’s offense ranks among the best nationally this season, sitting second in goals per game (16.00), points per game (25.57), and scoring margin (+7.43). Both McNamara and Ryan Stines are ranked in the top ten nationally for goals per game, while Stines also leads with a 42-game point streak dating back to May 2023.
Looking ahead, Utah will return home to play Bellarmine on March 28 at Ute Field for its first home game of the season and opening match of ASUN Conference play.
