Avery Neff and Sage Curtis of the Utah Gymnastics team have received Big 12 Weekly Awards following their performances in the team’s win over No. 21 Denver. The victory secured Utah’s second consecutive regular season conference title.

Neff was named Big 12 Gymnast of the Week for the sixth time this season. She achieved her fifth straight all-around victory with a score of 39.650 across all four events against Denver. Neff also won titles on bars and beam, scoring 9.95 on both events, which tied her career high on beam. With these wins, she now has 27 career event victories, including 19 this season.

Neff is currently ranked fourth nationally in the all-around and holds top positions within the Big 12: first in all-around, tied seventh on vault (first in conference), tied ninth on bars (second in conference), twelfth on beam (first in conference), and fifth on floor within the Big 12.

Freshman Sage Curtis earned her first Big 12 Newcomer of the Week award after posting a career-high score of 9.925 as anchor on floor exercise. This performance contributed to Utah’s third highest team floor score this season at 49.450 and helped secure a final team score of 197.200 to Denver’s 196.100.

Curtis had previously scored back-to-back marks of 9.90 against BYU and Southern Utah before setting her new personal best in Denver.

Utah will next compete at home against West Virginia and No. 24 BYU during a tri-meet at the Huntsman Center on Saturday, March 7 at 3 p.m MT. The meet will also serve as Senior Day for athletes Makenna Smith, Ana Padurariu, Ashley Glynn, and Sarah Krump.
