The Utah football program announced on April 8 that it will host the 22 For U Fan Day on April 18 from 4:30 to 6 p.m. inside the Spence Eccles Field House.
The event is open to Utah fans, who will have the opportunity to get autographs from the entire football team. Children under age 12 can participate in a Kids Zone featuring more than ten interactive drills with members of the coaching staff. Head coach Morgan Scalley will also be interviewed live during the event.
Fans attending are encouraged to bring coats for donation as part of the “22 Forever Coat Drive,” which aims to help people in need of warmth during winter months. Donations can also be made to support the “22 Forever Memorial Scholarship,” which honors former players Ty Jordan and Aaron Lowe.
Entry and exit for fans will be through the southwest and northwest corners of Spence Eccles Field House. Autographs will only be given on posters provided at the event, and fans are encouraged to line up by 5:30 p.m. Parking is free in all university lots near the field house, including Guardsman and east/west stadium lots.
The University of Utah established scholarship funds named after Ty Jordan and Aaron Lowe, both of whom wore number 22 while playing for Utah. Jordan died in December 2020 after an accidental shooting, while Lowe was killed less than a year later at a party following a game. After their deaths, number 22 was retired from use by Utah football.
