The Utah men’s basketball team concluded its 2025-26 regular season with a 101-75 defeat against Baylor at Foster Pavilion in Waco, Texas. Utah finished the season with a record of 10-21 overall and 2-16 in Big 12 conference play.
Utah started the game competitively, keeping pace with Baylor thanks to early contributions from Don McHenry and Keanu Dawes. However, after trailing by just two points at the first media timeout, Utah allowed Baylor to go on a 10-0 run that extended the Bears’ lead to double digits. Baylor maintained offensive momentum throughout the first half, making nearly 68 percent of its field goal attempts during an early stretch.
Despite shooting efficiently—hitting over 54 percent from the field and converting five out of eight three-point attempts—Utah trailed at halftime by a score of 53-33.
The second half followed a similar pattern as Baylor continued to extend its lead, ultimately outscoring Utah by six points in the final period to secure victory.
After the game, it was noted that “the smothering offensive output from the Bears overshadowed an otherwise efficient half from the Runnin’ Utes, who hit on 54.5 percent of its attempts (12-of-22) in the period while going 5-of-8 from beyond the arc.”
Utah ended the contest shooting 60.4 percent from the field—their highest percentage against a conference opponent this season and second-best overall behind their performance against Eastern Washington earlier in December. The Utes also made half of their three-point shots and recorded more blocks than Baylor.
Don McHenry led Utah with 20 points, four rebounds, and two assists while shooting eight-for-twelve. Terrence Brown contributed sixteen points and five assists; Keanu Dawes added fourteen points.
Looking ahead, Utah will play Cincinnati in the opening round of the Philips 66 Big 12 Men’s Basketball Tournament on March 10 at T-Mobile Center in Kansas City. The matchup is scheduled for broadcast on ESPN+.
