Utah’s baseball team ended its road trip with a 13-4 victory over Loyola Marymount University (LMU) in Los Angeles. The Utes scored 13 runs on as many hits, turning a close game into a comfortable win after an offensive outburst late in the contest.

LMU took an early lead with a two-run home run in the first inning and added two more runs in the fourth to go ahead 4-1. Utah began to respond in the second inning when Daniel Arambula grounded out to bring home Cameron Gurney for their first run. In the fifth, Jake Long singled to drive in Nevan Noonan, narrowing LMU’s advantage to 4-2.

The pivotal moment came in the eighth inning when Utah sent 14 batters to the plate and scored 11 runs. The surge included RBI walks by Luke Jacobs and Noonan, an RBI hit-by-pitch from Gurney, and a two-run single from Arambula. Additional contributions came from Miller with an RBI single, Matt Flaharty with another base hit for an RBI, and sacrifice flies by Jet Gilliam and Jacobs.

Arambula was notable at the plate, going 3-for-6 with three RBIs. Miller also tallied three hits. Gurney scored twice and drove in one run, while Jacobs and Long each contributed two RBIs.

Dillon Fine (2-0) earned the win out of the bullpen by pitching 3.1 scoreless innings with only one hit allowed and four strikeouts. Cameron Nielson added a scoreless frame before Seth Graham-Pipp finished with a clean ninth inning. The Utah bullpen held LMU without a run over the final five-plus innings.

Utah will return home next weekend for its first-ever game at Charlie Monfort Field at America First Ballpark against Grand Canyon.
