Tyler Clancy, a public figure active on social media, recently shared a series of posts reflecting on the impact of fentanyl and activities at the Kem C. Gardner Policy Institute.
In a post dated December 4, 2025, Clancy recounted his personal experience with fentanyl: “The first time I heard about fentanyl was when I high school friend of mine passed away after years of struggling with addiction. It used to be a drug people had to ‘watch out for’ & other drugs would be laced with. Over the past couple of years, I’ve seen fentanyl completely”. The statement highlights the growing prevalence and dangers associated with fentanyl use in recent years.
On the same day, Clancy posted an observation from a visit: “Spotted @ the Kem C. Gardner institute:”. The tweet references the Kem C. Gardner Policy Institute, which is known for providing economic, demographic, and public policy research in Utah.
Later that morning, Clancy recommended an article by another commentator: “Per usual – a must read from @CharlesFLehman”.
Fentanyl has become increasingly prevalent in communities across the United States over recent years. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has reported significant increases in overdose deaths involving synthetic opioids like fentanyl since 2013. Public policy organizations such as the Kem C. Gardner Policy Institute frequently analyze trends affecting Utah and broader national issues.
