Tyler Clancy, a Utah state representative, used his social media account on December 31, 2025, to share support for Luke Searle’s candidacy for the Utah statehouse and to announce new legislative efforts aimed at curbing junk fees in Utah.

In a post dated December 31, 2025, Clancy wrote: “Let’s go @lukejsearle ! Wasatch County’s Luke Searle to seek Utah statehouse seat https://t.co/D58FBIR71R”.

Shortly after, he posted another message endorsing Searle’s qualifications and referencing the outgoing representative. On December 31, 2025, Clancy stated: “Excited for my good friend Luke Searle! He has done an incredible job on the Wasatch County Council & will be a great asset to the state legislature. Rep. Kohler has left big shoes to fill for HD 59. Luke & his wife Savannah are the best Utah has to offer. Please join me in https://t.co/gZHJCp0IN3”.

Later that day, Clancy addressed consumer protection efforts in another post about upcoming legislation targeting so-called “junk fees.” On December 31, 2025, he wrote: “Utahns are sick of being nickled & dimed by junk fees at every turn. That’s why Sen. Vickers & I are running HB 29: to give relief to families working hard & playing by the rules. The message is simple: the price you see is the price you pay! https://t.co/Qtqqonk7gU”.

Junk fees have been a topic of debate both nationally and within Utah as lawmakers consider ways to enhance transparency in pricing and reduce hidden costs for consumers.

Rep. Tyler Clancy represents District 60 in the Utah House of Representatives and has served since January 2023.
