Thirteen athletes from the University of Utah Ski Team have been named to the All-Rocky Mountain Intercollegiate Ski Association (All-RMISA) teams for the 2026 season, according to an announcement made by the league office on Tuesday. The recognition comes as postseason awards are being released and ahead of the upcoming National Collegiate Skiing Championships.
The first-team All-RMISA selections in alpine skiing include Melanie Dahlberg and Johs Braathen Herland. In Nordic events, Erica Lavén, Mons Melbye, Zachary Jayne, and Sofia Pedersen were named to the first team.
Second-team honors went to Pierick Charest, Christina Jacobsen, Sindre Myklebust, and Witta Walcher. Neve Gerard, Max Kluck, and Kaila Lafreniere received honorable mentions.
Melanie Dahlberg started all 14 races this season with 11 top-10 finishes and four podium appearances. She was recognized as Skier of the Meet at the Nevada Invitational and secured her first collegiate win in slalom at that event.
Johs Braathen Herland became a two-time All-RMISA First Team honoree with 13 top-10 results out of 14 starts. He had ten podium finishes and six wins during the season. “Became the first Utah skier (men’s or women’s) since at least 2019 to win the first four alpine races of an RMISA season,” according to official records.
In Nordic events, Zachary Jayne earned seven podiums in as many starts this year and competed in World Cup events abroad. Erica Lavén achieved individual victories in all seven of her completed races this season. Mons Melbye recorded six top-five finishes out of seven starts during his freshman year.
Sofia Pedersen had nine top-five results across ten starts in her debut season for Utah.
Among second-team selections, Pierick Charest finished with seven top-10 results from eleven starts; Christina Jacobsen achieved her first collegiate podium with a silver medal in slalom at Nevada; Sindre Myklebust secured bronze medals in both giant slalom and slalom; Witta Walcher finished inside the top ten eight times this season.
Honorable mentions included Neve Gerard—who reached a podium finish in a Nordic qualifier—and Max Kluck—who claimed his first collegiate win at classic sprints during an RMISA Invitational. Kaila Lafreniere started all races this year and narrowly missed a podium finish at the RMISA Championships.
The Utah Ski Team is preparing for the National Collegiate Skiing Championships which will take place from March 11–14 in Salt Lake City. Athletes selected for participation will be announced on March 4 via NCAA.com.
