Eight members of the University of Utah swim and dive program were named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team, the organization announced on Apr. 7.
This recognition highlights student-athletes who excel both in competition and academics. The honor underscores the importance placed on balancing athletic commitments with academic achievement.
The athletes honored include seniors Elias Petersen, Evan VanBrocklin, Kathryn Grant, Erin Palmer, and Julia Bartell; juniors Teagan Steinmetz and Kelson Flynn; and sophomore Winston Sundeen. According to the announcement, this is the fourth consecutive year that Utah has had eight student-athletes recognized—the maximum number allowed on the All-District Team.
To qualify for selection, student-athletes must have a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.50 and participate in at least half of their team’s meets during the season. The team includes students from a range of academic disciplines such as communications, human development & family studies, psychology & communication, quantitative analytics of markets & organizations, business, speech & hearing science, sociology, and kinesiology.
Looking ahead, fans can follow updates about these athletes through social media channels or by downloading Utah Athletics’ official mobile app.
