U.S. Senator John Curtis (R-Utah) has expressed his support for the Fiscal Year 2026 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), which recently passed in the Senate with bipartisan backing.
In a statement, Curtis said, “I proudly supported the NDAA because it strengthens our military’s readiness, invests in critical capabilities, and delivers real benefits to Utah’s defense community. This bill ensures our armed forces have the tools they need to defend our nation, and it protects and expands the missions that sustain good jobs here at home.”
The NDAA addresses current security challenges by focusing on preparedness against potential threats from countries such as China and Russia. It also emphasizes maintaining strong partnerships with U.S. allies, including Taiwan.
The legislation includes measures aimed at supporting both national defense priorities and Utah’s local defense sector.
